Isabel BerganzaSetién is a Lawyer and Sociologist from Duesto University (Spain). She received her Doctorate from the University of the Basque Country (Spain). She has directed and participated in research related to migration and refugee processes, human rights, and public policies, as well as the prison system. 

Currently Isabel is a Vice Chancellor at the Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University. She has served as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and as Director of the Professional School of Law in the same University. She has worked as a lawyer in the Criminal and Penitentiary Affairs Program of the Ombudsman's Office, as well as in various institutions, such as the Basque Immigration Observatory-IKUSPEGI, the Department of Human Mobility Pastoral of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference and the Episcopal Commission for Social Action (CEAS)
